Modern Image was happy to take on my relatively small scanning job and got it done in under a week. They also helped me improve the results a bit after the job was done. Price for 1 book, 600 pg was just under 100$ and I'd be happy to use them again.

I could not be happier with Modern Image. I spent weeks on line looking at various photoscanning options. Everything I saw was either too expensive or required me to send off my photos outside the US for weeks at a time. Then, I found Modern Image. Their pricing is competitive with anything I found on line and they are based here in Atlanta. My photos can be dropped off and picked up easily. But, most important of all, is the quality of the scans and the flexibility on projects. On one project, I pointed out some dust on a set of scans - they happily rescanned them with all dust removed. On another project, many of the photos had handwriting on the back. Modern Image was happy to scan in the backs of the photos and now I have a permanent record of both the photo and the handwritten notes of my relatives who made those notes decades ago. Modern Image gets my strongest recommendations for anyone looking to scan in important documents, whether you are based in Atlanta offices or across the country.

Modern Image did an awesome job saving a piece of Marietta City School history. A 1992 Centennial Celebration project history of MCS's first 100 years, 1892-1992, was down to its last few hardback copies. Modern Image digitized one of the remaining hardback copies into both a B&W and color file in a matter of days. Old pictures of school buildings long since torn down came out crisp and vibrant. Even old MDJ articles found in the original publication were reproduced with such clarity they looked fresh off the MDJ's printing presses. David and Sean McDonough are consummate experts in their field who run a very professional business and provide a solid service to our community.

Prices are based on the level of effort required to prepare the photos and files for scanning - are there staples and binder clips that have to be removed, photo albums, binders? What do you want scanned - everything including sticky notes, phone messages and business cards or just the standard paper? Do you want your photographs professionally enhanced or scanned as-is?

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We would start by understanding their goals - How do they want to store the digital photographs? How do they want them organized? What's the best way to help that client use their photographs, once scanned?
I'm happy to help organize and suggest storage techniques that make photos easy to find and make the archive easy to build.
Then I'll meet with the client and pick up their pictures - I'll go to the home or office and review what they have and how they want them organized. We'll scan the photos quickly, with exceptional quality and deliver them back in the method of their choice.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We have staff members who have studied photography at Savannah College of Art and Design. We have extensive photoshop experience, if that's what's needed. Most importantly, we've lost our family photos to Hurricane Katrina, so we know the importance of preserving them in a safe and secure fashion
