- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I know things can come up and there could be a quick turnaround request for 1-2 days and I will always do my best to help out with those special requests when I can. Please consider that there could be rush fees added to the base in these instances. These fees will typically be a flat $30-$60, depending on your needs. Otherwise, I can usually stick to my base rates.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The process is very collaborative. If you hire me and we end up working together, please prepare to have an initial phone call where I can get to know why you are in need of a resume. Are you planning to change industries and need to cater your resume toward a different field? Has your company been recently acquired or merged with a corporation and you want your resume updated in the event you may find yourself on the job market? Do you need a resume written from complete scratch because you just graduated college, or because you've been in the same role since starting your career and never needed a formal resume before? These are the things we will talk about before I start working on your resume so I have a clear impression of where you came from, professionally speaking, and where you are heading. After the initial phone call, I will start on creating a draft from scratch, either using information you've shared with me from a previous resume, or creating all new content, (in the case that you don't have an existent resume.) In the latter scenario, our initial phone call will either be a bit longer, or will be followed up with a second call to discuss the past roles you've worked in and/or education you've received while I take notes to synthesize the information into resume format. While I'm writing the resume for you, I prefer for open communication lines, either via text, email or phone call, so I can ask any questions that come up during the creative process. I respect work schedules and time preferences and do my best to completely cater to your scheduling needs at all times. The process for writing a resume and cover letter will usually take one week, but I can make exceptions and work on a rush if you need it sooner.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's degree from The University of Colorado at Boulder. I graduated with a Political Science degree, and; therefore, had to write my fair share of persuasive papers to satisfy course requirements. I still remember many of the topics I chose to write about, (even though it's been over a decade since graduating!) One of my favorite papers I wrote was in my senior seminar class for a Professor Emily Chenoweth, who I completely admired. I can tell you the topic I chose if you're interested... Another fond memory I have is writing in elementary school and having my story selected to read out loud in a school function...what a rush!
