Now, I do what I can and don't worry about the rest. However, there was a time after I had my quadruplets(which took me from 3 to 7 children overnight) that included 4 premature newborn babies, 2 toddlers and a special needs adolescent where money from my husband's job was too scarce to take our household of 9 out of our small, subsidized 3BR apartment, where we had little to no outside help and no local family support that my heart was beating so fast and violently where it felt like horses were galloping out of my chest AND my heart rate was over 90bpm while sitting at rest after midnight when all of the children were asleep. Oblivious to me, I thought I was having a heart attack because additionally, I was having pain that moved down my left arm and according to all the writings that I had read, I had all of the symptoms. So, my husband and I at the time, went to the hospital several times in fact only to be turned away and being told that I wasn't having a heart attack but I received no recommendations or suggestions as to what I might be experiencing. Later, much later I realized I was having panic attacks. I remember being worried about my children's future and not being able to provide them with all the things necessary for them to grow, develop and learn what life had to offer, exposing them to their choices and jumpstarting their educational careers. I was devastated, under tons of pressure and didn't know what to do or where to turn but what I did know is that I had lost me in the process of trying to be a good mother, good wife and not knowing my limits. So, I had to go and find me because I knew that I couldn't help anyone else if I couldn't help myself. My grandmother said that I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown and I refused to let that be my reality. In this process of finding me, I lost custody of my children, regained myself through balance, meditation and prayer and truly learned that I, too, have limits. I never lost myself again, regained custody of my children and learned how to be happy no matter what. Once I found that, I wanted to help and show everyone that they, too, can obtain happiness through some practical and simple steps through what I call my Rx for Happy-ness.
