- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I have illiminated initial cleaning prices for all customers wanting weekly or bi-weekly service. For those customers, each cleaning is a deep cleaning and you always pay the "basic cleaning" price. You don't have to pay some ridiculous skyrocketed price because we've never been to your home before. Although if we DO spend more than 4hours in your home your 1st visit, it's an additional $40per hour after 4hours, which is the amount of time it takes to do most initial deep cleanings. However in an attempt to keep your service affordable we allot you the deep cleaning time frame of 3-4hrs at no additional charge so you start your account/cleaning rotation with your set price of $50- $100, depending entity and size
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My mother used to clean houses when I was around 7 or 8 years old. I remember my sister and I accompanying her on many occasions because she didn't trust anyone with her children, not even family. I actually had my first professional job working at a cleaning company, Swisher's Maid when I was around 19 or 20 perhaps. It was overwhelming for me because my mother was a meticulous woman and very "old-fashioned" when it came to cleaning. She loved her inspection white gloves that she used to check our chores. My father also was very meticulous and highly valued organization and the pride of everyone always saying that you could "eat off the floor" in our home. The church people were always asking my mom how she did it with 6 kids. If they only knew.....needless to say that I wasn't the fastest worker because I'm very OCD when it comes to cleaning so while I noticed my other colleagues doing basic cleaning, just wiping around things, cutting corners, I on the other hand was always running behind them redoing things, recleaning things, and cleaning other things with what the other workers felt was too much detail and not worth the money or time. I didn't stay very long with them. I later was able to get another job working at a rather large cleaning business where I stayed and worked my way from field house cleaner to office secretary, later office manager and finally acting, VP before finally graduating to entrepreneuralship with my own company.
