Mrs. H., I am disappointed that you did not have a completely satisfactory experience with Handy Hands Upkeep. I apologize that we neglected to replace three screens and am sincerely sorry that we missed one of your windows. I fully understand why you are dissatisfied with such oversights and I take full responsibility for our mistakes. I had asked my crew if the screens were replaced and the windows done, was told yes, and due to my confidence and trust in them I did not double check our work. I assure you this will not happen again. I also regret that you overheard a conversation my business partner was having with a very rude, crude and accusatory gentleman with an unfounded claim.This individual was simply trying to extort my company for a previously damaged shrubbery. It is not our policy to handle company calls while with a customer. I understand your just concern over the missed window and 3 unplaced screens but I cannot take responsibility for you feeling silly or conned over our very fair and competitive prices. To clarify a few things I must point out that over the phone you assured me that your home had 20-25 windows. A cleaning for that number of windows is $!49.00 inside and out. In a subsequent conversation it was made known that 5 of your downstairs windows were french pane windows on the ground floor. At this time, I felt confident that if there were indeed only FIVE french windows that I could include them in the cleaning for no extra charge. When I arrived on site and was able to do a full window count and complete estimate, I discovered that rather than having between 20-25 windows, 5 with french panes, your home had 42 windows, 13 with french panes. A relatively simple 2 hour job became a more complicated 4 hour job and was priced fairly and accordingly. {This also accounts as to why the job was not finished until dusk.} Our pricing is as follows: First 25 windows $149 Each additional window $7 each French windows $14 each Screen cleaning and replacement. $1 each There is no charge for ladder work unless your home is three stories. Your home was not three stories, so there was no ladder charge. The Faux french panes are still charged as French panes to cover the time and care necessary to remove and replace them. These frames are delicate and take time to handle properly especially when removing and replacing them on a fifteen foot ladder. I apologize for any lingering confusion on the pricing. Three price options were given ranging from $292 to $431. There was a deviance in the expected price so each charge was explained thoroughly before you signed a proposal sheet and chose to go with the $431 full cleaning price option. Also, you were not charged for your difficult screens. They were difficult because whoever had installed them, removed the attaching mechanisms from the upstairs screens and elected to nail them in with finishing nails. In removing them, this was explained and understood.
