FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will typically begin with a free no obligation consultation with my potential clients and their pets. During this time, I can ask questions to see what the clients main concerns may be as well as answer any questions they may have about myself or Highland Canine Training. It also gives me the opportunity to observe the dog(s) and make my own assessment of the situation in order to make a better recommendation of a training program to meet the clients needs. We can then talk about different training methods and tools that we may use during the training process.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I grew up with dogs and always loved them. When I adopted my first dog as an adult I realized I needed help and it took several trainers before finding one that actually could help. During that time, I found my passion for dog training and realized how hard it can be to find an effective trainer. Shortly after that, I attended Highland Canine Training's Dog Obedience and Behavior Modification course. It's a very intense program consisting of classroom lecture, videos, reading and hands on working with dogs. Since completion of the program, in addition to working with clients, I continue to read and get involved in situations where I can continue to grow and expand my knowledge as a dog trainer. For the past few years, I have also been a volunteer dog trainers with Canine CellMates, a Fulton County Jail Dog Program.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with clients that own dogs of all different ages, sizes and breeds. At Highland Canine, we pride ourselves on the ability to rehabilitate dogs that other dog trainers have turned away or been unable to train.
