I have had great success using Thumbtack twice now. I would definitely recommend Camouflage Construction. Ashley responded quickly and let men know the terms - after arranging an appointment, James was very conscientious about being there as scheduled and kept me up to date by communicating throughout the whole process. James went through the project requirements in detail, showed up every day until it was done and came in on budget. The finished product was exactly as we'd asked and the quality of the work was terrific - he even cleaned up impeccably when finished which is not always common. Cost was very reasonable. To me it as all about customer service and trust when you are hiring someone to do work on your biggest and most important investment - your home. Based on my first experience - you won't go wrong choosing Camouflage Construction. The most real endorsement is if you hire someone back to do additional jobs and we have already asked James to come back for another project.

My fiancé and I started looking at homes through Zillow and all of the home buying apps out there. We worked with a couple of relators but they all seemed to lack something that David has, enthusiasm for customer service and pairing people with the right home. He was incredibly helpful in our home buying experience, he is very easy to get along with, he is approachable, and he is always available when I need something. When I say always available I mean it. The first time we heard from him my fiancé and I were up very late, well after business hours, looking through the home buying apps, inputting interest on the little contact pop ups and David contacted us through email to follow up on a listing. Before we knew it were setting up tours. No matter what time or day David was/is always available. No matter what kind of question he always has an answer or helped figure it out. Another helpful tip about David is he has a lot of experience flipping homes and working on homes so he is very insightful on what to look for. He will even help you paint a picture of what you can do to fit your lifestyle in the house to help you feel if it is right for you. We found a lot of homes that we loved but at the end of the day if you don’t envision what it will be like having family over, growing your family, or where to brew your beer (or whatever hobby you have) then you could potentially miss out on a perfect home. David doesn’t get offended if you don’t like something, he doesn’t pressure you to buy something even if there are cash incentives, he truly is there for his customers and I highly recommend him. Life is much much easier with David as your real estate agent.

I can't say enough good things about my experience with John. When he first came to look at the condo, he only had positive things to say about it. I had already planned to have it painted and new carpet installed, and he said that's all I needed to do. After the improvements were done, we listed on a Friday and had an offer for the full asking price my Monday.     What is a home inspection?

    A home inspection is a visual inspection performed by a trained professional to determine the condition of a home’s main elements. The inspection usually takes several hours, during which the professional takes multiple photos and notes, tracking information for a final report. After the inspection, the pro will create a printed report, complete with photos and detailed information, summarizing the condition of the house. A home inspection is often used by potential home buyers prior to purchase to determine if there are larger issues (such as dry rot or a faulty foundation) that are not immediately visible to the untrained eye but that would cost a lot of money to resolve. Home inspections are also used by real estate agents and home sellers to address any concerns before putting a home on the market. Longtime homeowners can also schedule a home inspection to get a snapshot of their current home condition and identify any issues that need to be addressed. A home inspection is not a legal document that can be used for divorce or estate settlements, nor can it be used to secure loans or mortgages.

    What does a real estate agent do?

    Real estate agents help their clients buy, sell, and rent commercial and residential properties. There are also real estate agents that sell industrial and agricultural real estate, but the majority sell residential properties. To become a real estate agent, you must be at least 18 years old, successfully complete real estate courses, and pass a real estate exam. Be sure to check for any required licensing, too. Often real estate agents will earn 5 percent to 6 percent of the total home sale price for their work in representing their client. Typically this commission is split equally between the buyer’s agent and the seller’s agent. Here is an overview of what a real estate agent does, according to the United States Department of Labor:

    How do you find a good home inspector?

    A home inspection should tell you the true condition of a home. A competent home inspector closely inspects your home’s structure and foundation, looks for termites and signs of problems like mold, checks the wiring to ensure it’s in good condition, and investigates the HVAC system, among other items. To find a good home inspector, first research whether home inspection is licensed in your area; not all states require licensure.

    If there is no regulatory body that licenses home inspection in your state, there are other ways to make sure you are hiring a trustworthy professional. Carefully look into the person’s reviews and ask for references. Ask if they are committed to continuing education, and whether they are active members in any reputable home inspector organizations. Some organizations that recognize and/or certify home inspectors are the American Society of Home Inspectors, National Association of Certified Home Inspectors, and American Home Inspectors Training. Don’t be shy about asking to see credentials and licensing.

    What's the difference between a real estate broker and an agent?

    Real estate agents and real estate brokers both help clients buy, sell, and rent residential and commercial properties. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, real estate brokers are licensed to manage their own real estate businesses. Real estate agents cannot have their own real estate office and must work under a broker. Real estate brokers often have real estate firms and employ real estate agents. Those real estate agents may be employees of the firm, or they may work on contract and earn part of any commission they bring into the firm.

    If you are a homeowner ready to sell or a buyer in the market for a new home, either a real estate broker or a real estate agent can help you achieve your goal. What is more important than their title is their track record and client success stories.     What should you look for in a real estate agent?

    When you’re hiring a real estate agent you want to find a qualified pro who can negotiate the best deal for your home — whether you’re buying or selling. Reading reviews will help you weed out obvious bad operators; you want to work with someone who treats their clients with fairness and respect. That said, you also want someone who can play hardball and maximize your real estate deal. Ask for references from recent clients, and be sure to call them.
