I invest in getting to know my students first. I conduct an assessment interview to evaluate learning and thinking styles and to get to know their personal likes, motivations, and goals. I am a "people person," so I really enjoy interacting with students of all ages and cultural backgrounds. I am also a student at heart and I'm always learning from my experiences with others.

So far so good! I have been very pleased and impressed with Mrs. Maralene so far. We just started last week, but I can say that my daughter has no problems when it comes to tutoring time. She loves the ice breaker games and she is so motivated and encouraged throughout her sessions. Ms. Maralene has found a way to incorporate my daughter’s passion for fashion into her assignments and sessions. She is an out of the box educator and I really love that aspect that she brings.

I am really enjoying the transformation of my daughter who is in the 5th grade. Mrs. Bates has the knowledge, the patience and the passion when it comes to educating our younger generation. My daughter feels comfortable with the one on one attention she is receiving and gravitate to her style of teaching. Mrs. Bates was able to work a schedule out that was accommodating to both parties. Ms. Bates is currently tutoring my 7th grade daughter. The experience has been very positive. She has been phenomenal thus far! My daughter connected with her right away (not an easy task). She explains things to her in a manner that's very simplistic and makes sense to my daughter. During our second session she already had gone to my daughters school's website to get familiar with her teachers and the assignments due. She is very knowledgeable in all subject areas, and familiar with educational trends. She has come to each lesson prepared and each lesson is designed with my daughters learning style in mind.

What types of customers have you worked with?
Our most common service is one-on-one tutoring. This service includes: homework and project help, test preparation, study skills development, and vocabulary building. For the past three school years, we have worked in public schools preparing students for standardized tests in Math and Science. Again, by developing vocabulary and basic skills, more students successfully pass. Supporting homeschoolers is our third most common type of service. We assist some families with a "Visiting Teacher" who can monitor or prepare a curriculum and assess progress. We also offer "less-stress" standardize testing designed specifically for homeschool students.
