Goals
Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I am motivated to see all of my clients succeed in accomplishing their health and fitness goals. It is imperative that my clients have initially positive experiences with exercise so that they adhere to exercise programming in the future. My work stands out among other trainers since I build workout programs that actually target individual needs rather than using the one-size-fits-all principle to help people with their health and fitness goals. That being said, I will choose workouts appropriate for the client based on initial fitness assessments and movement screens. Moreover, I employ exercise psychology principles to enable my clients to succeed in their fitness goals; I employ motor control and learning principles to maximize motor learning of a skill, such as how to perform a squat; and I also employ exercise physiology, biomechanical, and functional anatomy principles to develop scientifically-based programs for the client to maximize functional movement for the client. I enjoy the fact that I enable my clients to feel emotionally positive after finishing their workout program, compared to how they had initially felt before exercising. I find it fascinating to see my clients progress from their baseline progress to results that will inspire other potential clients to exercise. In short, I simply enjoy working with people.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Yes! I stay abreast with fitness related information through the IDEA Health & Fitness Association Journal. I also participate in workshops in regards to using various equipment in new and innovative ways, such as the Free Motion Fitness Equipment, Gravity Group Training, and TRX.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

The most important advice that I could give to a potential client is to find out whether the trainer is certified and, if so, with whom. Check to see whether the trainer's certification NCCA accredited, such as ACE, ACSM, NSCA, and NASM. In addition, find out how the trainer can tailor a program for your individual needs. Often times, trainers fall victim to producing the one-size-fits-all program, thereby neglecting the client's individual needs. Your trainer should be able to provide sound reasoning for why you a performing a certain number of repetitions for a workout, why your rest times are as short as 30 seconds or as long as 5 minutes, and so on.
