Essential Home Renovation built a deck for my home. During the process he stayed in communication with me making sure everything was completed the way I wanted it done. He handled getting the needed materials and he had all the necessary tools to complete the job. He arrived and completed the job in a timely manner. He made sure the work area was clean when he was done working. He took pride in the work that he did! I would highly recommend him!Jan 10, 2017
We have had Josh do a couple small projects for us (install crown moulding and build some custom trim pieces for over our doorways), and we plan to have him do some more. He is great to work with and does good work. He is also good at communicating the schedule (when he will be there to do the job, if he is running late, etc) which can be kind of rare these days.Jan 13, 2017
Josh is honest, on task, fairly priced and thorough! Josh is my "go to" man for all of my home improvement/repair needs and, as a licensed real estate agent I recommend Josh to everyone for their needs. I have NEVER had a disappointed client. I also recommend Josh at every opportunity. He is outstanding and it is my privilege to help spread the word on his professionalism, trustworthiness and experience!Jan 17, 2017
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? For my handyman work I use an itemized system. Its a fixed price you show me the tasks and from experience I can calculate labor and materials for each task. I will give you a price for all the items which includes materials. For contracting I get bids from each sub and calculate materials and the parts I will do and put the numbers together for an overall price of the project.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?First step is to speak on the phone discuss the project and set up an on site inspection. At the inspection I will take pictures and measurements necessary for bidding. If the job is large it may take a couple days to complete a bid. If the job is small I can give a bid on the spot. Once the price is established and a deal is made I set up a start date and a work schedule that works for the customer.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have 20 years in the construction field. I have been a framer, a finish carpenter and a handyman. I have a lot of hands on experience in many fields doing remolding. I have also been a superintendent giving me experience dealing with subcontractors. I have made a lot of contacts over the years in contracting. The subcontractors I use are true professionals and affordable. I am a licensed contractor in both Nebraska and Iowa. I am bonded and insured.
