Introduction: I provide violin lessons to students ages 4-adult! Lessons are usually 30 minutes long or 45 minutes long. In addition to over 11 years of teaching experience, I am also an active performer. Recent performances include venues in New York (Carnegie Hall-Weil Hall) and Seoul, South Korea. I enjoy being able to work with students of all ages and backgrounds. My previous teaching studios included students as young as 4 through adult students 55+. My studio has been comprised of school aged children, young professionals, college professors and retirees. All abilities are welcome!

Rebecca is an excellent teacher. She is very positive in her feedback by not only giving constructive criticism on how to improve, but also pointing out your strengths as a musician, which keeps the lessons motivating and enjoyable. Her emphasis on proper form and solidifying the basics has caused me to hear a drastic difference in my playing. As an adult learner revisiting the violin, I appreciate that Rebecca can be versatile to the needs of the learner based on my age and skill level. I highly recommend taking lessons from Rebecca.

Rebecca teaches my nine year-old daughter. Rebecca is patient, encouraging, and her lessons are catchy, fun and age appropriate. She clearly knows how to teach and demonstrate so that my daughter understands and can follow her instructions. My daughter has progressed nicely and smoothly through the lessons and is still excited to play the violin and see Rebecca each week.

Lessons are 30 minutes long ($30) or 45 minutes long ($45), depending on the student's age and experience.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, I offer the option of a trial period where the students come and take 2 lessons with me (At the first lesson, the student pays the tuition for the first 2 lessons). After the "trial period" the student determines whether or not they think that the student-teacher match up is a good fit.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold two degrees in music: Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance from Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL in addition to a Master of Arts degree in Violin Performance from the University of Iowa. I am also a Suzuki Method Certified Violin Teacher with courses training in Suzuki Violin Books 1-3.
