Amina is an amazing person to have at your wedding, and goes above and beyond as the photographer!
First of all, I loved how she handled color. As I am Indian and my husband is Caucasian it was really important to us that we find a photographer who could authentically capture us together while maintaining the integrity of what we look like. Amina was fabulous at that. I wasn't washed out, and he wasn't over saturated. Even amongst professional photographers, its hard to find people who can handle light well.
Amina does some lovely vintage post processing, but I was looking for a crisp look in my photos; she delivered.
My wedding had three events: a casual mixer the night before in a park (6-9pm), a five hour wedding in the morning from 7am to almost noon (and lets not forget getting ready for a couple hours before), and a reception that night (6-9pm).
Amina stayed the whole time, and was a champ about the fact that the wedding, being partly Indian, ran late. Her positivity was a great energy to have around a wedding, where small things go wrong all the time!
She was professional the whole time, and captured all the important moments in a ceremony she'd never seen based purely on a text-based explanation of what to look for. I didn't have many specific bridal photo requests, not being a pintrest bride, and not wanting to add stress by an additional to-do list to my huge wedding, so Amina came up with poses for our bridal pictures. She was more than willing to work with us, if I had had specific requests too.
Her candids were the best part of the photo collection!
There was a point in the reception where I was in tears: the reason is unimportant. She had me out there, and basically found me pictures to take and things to do to cheer me up. Like I said, above and beyond.
The turnaround time on the pictures was great too! The online gallery was with us the Friday after the wedding, and the high resolution jpgs we'd bought, in a week after that.
We haven't yet ordered an album (so that isn't included on the cost) but we can for a year from the wedding, and she offers attractive funding options. We are seriously considering dropping a bomb on the album because the samples she showed us was great!
Overall, Amina was a great investment. I'm glad we had her to cover our wedding, and couldn't ask for more.
