Kalynn is an excellent yoga instructor (and a great person). She is patient with the instruction but challenged me to do my best. I never thought I'd even do yoga much less enjoy it.

I started with Kevin just prior to me heading off to Department of Defense Fire Academy as I had let my health goals slip. I had been fighting a stress fracture for over a year and had been limited on what I could do. Kevin helped me immensely in just adding stretching back into my routine that my cardio ability increased. Now that I am back from my training I look forward to continuing on my goals with him. I've been using Dee as my trainer for approximately three months. At first it was sporadic between my schedule but have been consistent for the last couple of months. I only see her twice a week but have noticed definite improvements in cardio endurance also reduction in low back pain due to the stretches and other flexibility movements that she has me do to the point that I do them now on my own. Also in regards to nutrition her influence has got me to eating my oatmeal with my blueberries every day. I have found that overtime when I am not able to meet with a scheduled appointment due to health issues, she checks in on me. Dee is patient with me and works to accommodate me when necessary.
For the past 12 months, I have been working one-on-one with Brian a minimum of two times per week. Brian does an excellent job of working with me to identify my fitness goals and then tailors an individual program to suit me. He is sensitive to my physical limitations resulting from past injuries yet is still able to develop routines that are constantly challenging me. Brian's demeanor is always supportive and encouraging; never harsh or critical. The studio is clean and well-maintained with private work-out areas and other amenities (e.g. shower facility, cardio equipment, hand towels, and a water station).
Okay...here's the scoop on Matt Carter as a personal trainer. I've had personal trainers in the past and frankly was quite disappointed. Having grown up in a gym lifting weights, I've always been athletic, never had a weight problem, and could always achieve fitness results on my own accord. However, either from getting older, having developed bad habits, or continued to perform outdated workout routines I simply could not achieve the results I was looking for. Hesitant about a personal trainer, I joined a friend who invited me along to see what his personal trainer was all about. I was pleasantly surprised at Matt's extensive knowledge, years in the field of exercise and fitness, and the resume to back it up. This is not someone fresh out of college with little experience. He knows your limits but will equally push you in order to reach your goals. Of course, like with all personal trainers, it takes a commitment on your part, willing to do the work, and your paying Matt for the knowledge, encouragement and recipe for success. I first met Tommy when I joined Axiom in September 2013. My intention was to only use their pool in the winter months, but I soon realized that my cardio-only workouts were not enough to get me to my goals. Not that I had any particular goal in mind, I just knew I wanted to be in better shape than I was. After my consultation I started training with Tommy 2 times a week. He gave me workouts to do at home or the gym and helped with me with a nutritional plan. I have honestly enjoyed every session, even the initial ones when every rep hurt and I wondered what insane person thought up these exercises. Tommys constant motivation and enthusiasm kept me going. The workouts are always different and challenging, whether its simply more weight or a completely new exercise, it never becomes boring or monotonous. Tommy is always challenging me in ways that I would have never challenged myself. He encouraged me to swim in the 2015 Boise Ironman 70.3, and the Xterra off-road Triathlon, two things I would have never done on my own. It has been 2 years since I started going to the gym and working with Tommy and my body is stronger then it has ever been and I feel confident that I can reach whatever athletic goals I set for myself, and the credit goes to Tommy for his effective training methods.
I contacted Layne through an online site. I told him my goals and what I would like to achieve and in return, he sent a very detailed, very well outlined, personal message about how much of what I should do/eat, how much cardio vs weight training and believed in me that I could do this. I have been following his guidelines for a month now and have had some pretty amazing results. I will definitely continue to use him as my personal trainer.
