FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Not to complicated. I have a session fee which is an hourly fee. The first hour for me is more expensive than the second hour because it seems fair to me. In all honestly the expenses of shooting a session are mostly incurred in the preparation, travel and consultation which all happens right up front, so I charge $100 for the first hour and just $150 for two. For weddings it changes. Each wedding I take prevents from doing another at that same time. And the amount of work, preparation, equipment and sacrifice is quite high. Because of these factors I charge $150 an hour a la carte for wedding coverage time. That comes to $1,200 for an eight hour wedding. The products that you want including the digital images are an additional expense. Because culling the images and editing them along with redundant back up takes days of work. I charge $600 for the digital images. On average it takes about twenty hours of editing time for a wedding and that is conservative.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Absolutely, with technology continuing to change so fast. I continually learn,I read about photography every week. And I take continuing photography seminars and classes each year to learn even more. It is also why I enjoy so many genres of photography. The challenge to learn to do each well is exciting and keeps me from getting bored by it all.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have loved photography since I was a kid. My parents got me a little kodak film camera when I was about eight. I love looking at photographs and I always enjoy documenting life and nature.
