I recently made the switch from personally doing my bookkeeping to outsourcing it to Across Borders Bookkeeping, run by Heather Betzold. I'm not one to normally write reviews, but it turns out she is a rock-star of a person and bookkeeper and this review is more than deserved. When I hired her to help with my books, I hadn't realized that my business taxes would need to be filed a month earlier than my personal taxes, which was in 2 days! This was a huge problem because I was behind on my books for the whole year! I kindly explained my situation to Heather, with the hopes that she could somehow help... and she did! To say she worked hard to make this unexpected deadline is an understatement. I received emails from her requesting missing documents and clarification all the way up to midnight, and one even at 4:30 am in the morning! I'm not sure how much sleep she got, but she sure showed dedication, pulling through for me in a huge way when she didn't have to. Her work was excellent, her pricing was more than fair, and her professionalism was spot on. Without reservation, I recommend Across Borders Bookkeeping to anyone looking to outsource their books.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $75 per hour for cleanups. If the customer decides to continue monthly services with me, I give them a reduced hourly rate.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually do an initial consultation which is free to find out what their needs are and during that meeting we discuss whether a cleanup is needed. If a cleanup is needed, then I charge a deposit to cover 4 hours of work and once that is used up then we discuss what additional work is needed. After the cleanup is complete, then we agree to an hourly rate for regular upkeep, and I work for the first couple of months at an hourly rate. When we have an average of how many hours are needed each month then we agree on a regular recurring rate that is charged to their card each month going forward.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated with a degree in accounting and have since attended conferences and gone through training to find out the newest and the latest in the industry in order to keep current with industry.
