***Beware***Vincent finally came out on 8/7, partially installed a security door. Measurements were off, so a piece of wood was wedged between the security door & frame (stated the door frame was a bit crooked) to get it leveled. To my knowledge, this wood is not weather-proof exterior wood, so it is a bad idea to leave it here. The recommended door closer (Home Depot) was also not installed; he stated he would come back to both, replace the temporary wood, and install the closer. That was over a week ago. Vincent has repeatedly said he would be back...no show, no call, no response when texted until a day or so later. The last time I heard from Vincent was last Wednesday, 8/13. "I'm sorry I'm so busy...I will get out there first thing tomorrow morning...My kids have orientation tonight so I'm not gonna get there." 3:05p Again, no show, no call. First said he would be back on Sunday, 8/9...no call, no show, no response to text until I texted again on Tuesday, 8/12. I think it's clear, he's not coming back, which means I will need to get someone else to fix, correct his work. Yes, he has already been paid. That's my fault, trusting he would keep his word. After all, it is sincerely good business practice to do so (at least it used to be). I think it's a good idea and safe to say that my time here on Thumbtack has come to a close. Used to be a trusted app for "vetted" contractors. Not so much lately. Long-term relationships are a thing of the past...for us ladies anyway IMHO.

I can't say enough good things about Vincent Rhodes and his fabulous work. He did excellent work replacing our basement stairs for a reasonable price, is incredibly responsive, shows up when he says he's going to, kept us up to date about any issues he encountered (our stairs were completely rotten and we thought some wood could be reused) and makes sure his work is done to his customers' satisfaction. It was so nice to have the hiring/work process go so smoothly. We will definitely use him again for future projects!
