Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: When you think of great musicians of the past, they were pretty much all composers: Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, etc. These composers were highly sought after as teachers. They were the instructors with whom other musicians wanted to study. Since I am not only a musician, but also a composer, I bring a unique element to music instruction that most ordinary teachers lack. In music, as with any field, the people who create the art have a greater knowledge and understanding than those who simply execute the art. For example, if you wanted to study architecture, you’d learn a lot more from an actual architect than from a carpenter or a construction worker. That's not to say that carpenters and construction workers don’t know something about architecture—they do know a little. But they do not know nearly as much about the house they are building as the person who actually designed the house. Likewise, there are piano teachers out there who can teach you what notes to play and which fingers to use, etc. But they do not have nearly the level of understanding about the “big picture” in music as those of us who are composers. So, before you pay another teacher $100+ a month for lessons, I would strongly encourage you to ask, are they just another run-of-the-mill piano player? Or are they someone who can really teach you about music? I am not just a piano player or piano teacher. I am a composer. And I can teach you much more about music than 99% of the teachers out there.
