FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I just finished my Master's Degree in Photojournalism, and I love reading about photojournalism from magazines, books, and of course the internet and blogs.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
In context of doing engagements and weddings, I've had a number of friends ask me to do them, and I've really enjoyed doing it. I'm a sucker for love, so being able to constantly document is wonderful.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
This past summer I shot an engagement session for two dear friends of mine. It was the summer of my Master's Degree finishing up, so I was ready to use my extended skills to use. We collaborated on what location would be best for their shoot, and landed on a beach in Chicago. They're wedding theme is nautical, so this was perfect. The day was sunny, warm, and it was great. The bride told me of the groom's nerves so I made sure to make him feel comfortable throughout the shoot. We took a walk around spots, I asked questions about their story to get a 'lovey' vibe and by the last hour (we did about 2-3 hours), the groom was cool and calm. I loved the photos that came from that shoot. They are so sweet, and serene. Blue skies, they wore blue, everything matched but wasn't cheesy. I'm so thankful they asked me!
