Introduction: I'm not sure that it does. I spend as much time as possible tailoring the event to the client - hopefully, all DJs do the same.

First, hire DJ John San Juan especially if you are getting married at Cheney Mansion. Then read the rest of this review. John San Juan provided the music for our Sept. 2, 2012 wedding reception at the Cheney Mansion in Oak Park. He clearly showed up with the intention to make our wedding fun, not just to do a job. And he truly made it perfect - more than any other single vendor. 1. When Cheney Mansion tried to shut us down early, John saved our wedding by continuing the party. We had the place reserved until 11:00 p.m. The bar was supposed to close at 10:30 and the music end at 11. This was very clearly laid out, but the lady working for the mansion closed the bar at 10 and tried to stop the music then too! This is not the first time they've pulled this, but still very not cool. John just kept playing and I didn't find out what was going on until 10:20, when I went to get a water from the non-existent bar. John saw that the party was still going and, despite the mansion's very shady instructions, played until I gave him permission to close down at 10:30 to preserve peace with the mansion. He was working for us, not the wedding venue! 2. He was very cordial and professional. He did not make himself the center of attention. He also worked with my dad, who had a special surprise planned for us that required some electronics. He was very prompt getting back to me as we were planning and went out of his way to meet me at the mansion while I was in town (I planned out wedding from afar). 3. He was really into the music. He took all of our requests and no-plays and added great songs. He didn't screw up our favorite songs by remixing them (although I'm sure he's capable of it). He's really excellent at music! 4. His service is affordable-more than affordable! We booked him for 5 hours, but he showed up to be set up before our ceremony and therefore was there for over 7 hours! Also, Cheney mansion is three floors and he provided all necessary equipment. He hauled it on the own (since the mansion's policies wouldn't let us help). We even ended up using his mic for the ceremony, no charge. He's genuinely a nice guy who wants to make your evening perfect and really is on your side. I wish I could hire John over and over again. His service was spectacular and he really made our wedding end sweetly rather than in a fit of rage for being kicked out early. What an amazing person and DJ!

My husband and I really appreciated the great party John DJ'ed at our wedding reception on September 8th, 2012. He understood our musical tastes from our first meeting and the whole interaction with him was smooth and stress free. John is easy to talk to and gets to the point - we encountered too many wedding vendors "selling themselves" to us, trying to win our business. John sold us on his natural approach with clients. At our reception, he was gracious and accommodating to our guest's requests, he played ALL the suggestions we made and filled in with other great tracks. It was a wonderful party and we continue to receive compliments on how smooth, hip and natural the whole affair was, including the music.

John San Juan was our D.J. for our wedding. He did a great job! He was not cheezy and played all the music off our playlist. He was very professional, and we had a very complicated venue and he was running his butt off to make sure everything was working properly. He won't be one of those DJ's who has to be the star of the show.

My Wife and I hired John after being referred to him by a local record producer that I had worked with over the years. He was extremely easy-going and easy to work with. We made a list of songs that we would like played at our wedding and he made sure to include all of them. Not once was our dance floor empty and we received many compliments about the DJ's music selection. He made the night flow seamlessly. Our guests enjoyed his work so much, that one of our recently engaged friends just hired him for their wedding!

Work with John was fantastic. He was our DJ for our wedding party and he took every suggestion I had and incorporated it beautifully! I have a wide range of interests but, I felt bad for this, I sent John a lot of new additions last minute. He was totally ok with it though! My husband is not a huge dancer but even he had a great time on the dance floor. Thanks again John!
