This was my first time using this website. I was searching for a photographer to take shots for my impending engagement in Chicago at the Hancock observatory. Identifying a Chicagoan vendor was a challenge for me considering I was all the way in North Carolina. I wanted to find someone with talent, who was trustworthy, and offered a fair price. Mathias Johnson (Matt) offered all of those things and more! Matt is a professional with years of experience and a passion for his craft. Matt was also very patient with us during this endeavor and worked hard to provide us with quality service. I was a bit nervous going in to work with him, but once I met him, was reassured not only by his work, but also by his persona. I'm so glad I chose Matt and I would encourage everyone seeking a photographer for your event to choose him for the job. You won't be disappointed!

Having our engagement photos done with Mathias Johnson was one of the best decisions we've made since we started planning our wedding. He was incredibly responsive from the start, and very flexible! We almost decided to reschedule the initial date we had picked due to very high winds that evening in Chicago, but Matt had gotten to the location about an hour and a half early to scope out a plan for the shoot and it ended up being gorgeous. We had sent him some examples of ideas we had liked, and his photos were leaps and bounds BETTER than the inspiration we saw! He was also very affordable, and extremely prompt--he initially estimated a few days between the shoot and having some edited images back, but he sent us a little preview the SAME evening as the shoot. We enjoyed just talking to him and shooting the breeze--he made us feel really comfortable and the whole time we spent with him was super laid back. It's almost too bad we're getting married in North Carolina or else we'd have him do the wedding in a heartbeat!

Mathias was our photographer for two upscale galas and two casual events, attendees ranging around 300-400 people. He snapped fantastic photos, was incredibly professional and VERY helpful with the whole event! He brought great ideas on how to the photography could have a greater impact on the event and our brand. Mathias ensured that we captured the our key organization leaders in photographs throughout the night. Overall, he was always 5 steps ahead of me and made my job as the event operator much easier, both in the pre-event planning process as well as the night-of. I was able to focus on other event issues because I knew that we would have the fabulous photos we needed by the end of the night. Highly recommend Mathias!

Mathais was fantastic. He was easy going, happy to accommodate our every need and even went through to the venue to scout it out 2 hours prior to the shoot. I highly recommend him.
