Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: First of all, I've dabbled in quite a few art fields. I minored in music in college, participated in theatre in high school, and I've been working in film and photography production since I got my hands on my first cameras as a kid. So I know what my clients are looking for. I know the difference between shooting for an actor versus shooting for a lighting designer, for example. I studied music and I know how to mold my photographic style around specific genres of music. Beyond that, I concentrated on photo retouching and image post-production in school, so I can quickly and easily correct for tricky lighting situations in smaller performance venues. I have a talent for telling stories and portraying the right moods in my photographs. I can capture moments on stage in a way no one else can. My style? Colorful. I love rich, saturated colors and deep, bold tones. Performers need photos that grab people's attention. You want your art to be remembered. My photographs will do that for you. The best part of working with performers is the rush I get from shooting a live show. There's nothing quite like it. When I get really invested in a shoot, I lose myself to the beat of the music, or the story of the theatre production, and it fuels my creativity. I also love the exposure I get to the local performing arts. I've made so many meaningful connections with my fellow creators, and I wouldn't trade that for the world.

Emily goes above and beyond to get the best possible images for her clients. I've used her services several times for my theatre productions and I have never been disappointed. She has a keen eye for great shots and high standards for all of her work, including retouching. Her images are always true to life and are very successful in capturing the moment, the mood, the atmosphere, and the energy. She is an outstanding photographer and I am never not impressed with her work.

FAQs

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

The most common question I hear from customers is something to the effect of, "But I can just take photos on my iPhone. Why do I need to hire a photographer?" Well, the answer is really quite simple. Professional photographers are people who have been trained in the field and have been perfecting their craft for years, even decades in some cases. We know more about composition, about capturing the opportune moment, and not to mention, we know how to work professional photography equipment and how to manipulate the settings in our cameras to best capture, for example, a performer onstage. Being a photographer is so much more than just clicking a button. You have to observe your subject from all angles and make sure you can do justice to your clients' amazing work. When you're hired as a photographer, it is your responsibility to spend every available second trying to capture the right moments, the moments that will go down in history.
