Ivan A.

I have been diagnosed with Bell's palsy on march 3 of 2017 at a concentra clinic where they provided me with anti-inflammatory anti-bacterial medication. As I was looking for alternative therapy to help me recover , I found Grace a very experienced acupuncture practitioner. Grace being very knowledgeable in her field of study gave me emotional relief and helped me stay positive .she  knew my condition was nothing serious and it could be treated with acupuncture, hot cupping and electro therapy to stimulate the paralyzed facial muscles. Her reassurance and confidence along with her level of expertise definitely got me to believe that all was going to turn out right. After 3 weeks of continuous acupuncture, cupping and electrotherapy treatments along with my western medication I was starting to see the first signs of recovery! It was such a blessing to be able to smile once again and know that I was going to fully recover ! As I write this review I have now made a full recovery and I am more than grateful to have had Grace help me through my struggle. Thank you! Much love and positive vibes. -Ivan

Treatments at Family Care Acupuncture & Herb for my back pain have been invaluable. I suffered sever stiffness and pain in my lower back especially, and with acupuncture and cupping I have felt a world of difference. Grace Xu is also not only attentive to her patient’s needs, but she is warm and inviting as well. I very highly recommend her practice to anyone who is considering therapy for aches and pains or just looking for a relaxing treatment.

Grace is a gifted healer, caring, attentive and genuinely interested in helping her patients. I started seeing her for acupuncture after being diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder with no known cure. She has helped me immensely with managing the stress associated with the condition and helped me achieve an improved sense of well being. I look forward to my weekly/bi-weekly sessions with her and genuinely miss her when I can't come in due to travel. She recently introduced me to cupping to help flush toxins and I look forward to seeing how this therapy helps boost my immune system. Thank you, Grace, for being so kind and so good at what you do!

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Initial visits generally last from thirty to ninety minutes. Your Acupuncturist will take a detailed health history, perform a physical exam, and provide you with your unique treatment plan. During your first exam, your acupuncturist will spend time getting to know you and your health concerns. You may be asked a wide range of questions about your symptoms, eating, exercise, sleeping habits, emotional states and anything that may offer insight into your health. Your acupuncturist will also employ diagnostic tools that are unique to acupuncture and TCM such as tongue and pulse diagnosis.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Does acupuncture needles hurt? Because each person is unique, everyone will have a different experience with acupuncture therapy. Some will feel no pain when needles are inserted, while others will feel some mild cramping followed by a sensation of relaxation. The acupuncture needles, made of stainless steel, are very thin and solid with buffed tips. Inserting acupuncture needles causes MUCH less pain than the needles used to give blood or deliver injections. Our acupuncturist use disposable needles, so there is no risk of infection, How many treatments will I need? The number of treatments will depend on the treatment goals. For acute problems, a few visits are usually required. For complex or chronic conditions, one or more treatments per week for several months may recommend. After that, four sessions a year are necessary for health maintenance.
