- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Initial visits generally last from thirty to ninety minutes. Your Acupuncturist will take a detailed health history, perform a physical exam, and provide you with your unique treatment plan. During your first exam, your acupuncturist will spend time getting to know you and your health concerns. You may be asked a wide range of questions about your symptoms, eating, exercise, sleeping habits, emotional states and anything that may offer insight into your health. Your acupuncturist will also employ diagnostic tools that are unique to acupuncture and TCM such as tongue and pulse diagnosis.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Does acupuncture needles hurt? Because each person is unique, everyone will have a different experience with acupuncture therapy. Some will feel no pain when needles are inserted, while others will feel some mild cramping followed by a sensation of relaxation. The acupuncture needles, made of stainless steel, are very thin and solid with buffed tips. Inserting acupuncture needles causes MUCH less pain than the needles used to give blood or deliver injections. Our acupuncturist use disposable needles, so there is no risk of infection, How many treatments will I need? The number of treatments will depend on the treatment goals. For acute problems, a few visits are usually required. For complex or chronic conditions, one or more treatments per week for several months may recommend. After that, four sessions a year are necessary for health maintenance.
