Introduction: *For the quickest response please submit a request at my website. I am unique in that I focus my teachings on the craft of communicating in performance. I treat movement as a dialogue with the audience. It is important to me that the dancer pull the viewer into his/her world and not just make it a spectacle, which it already is. I feel it is important to reach beyond the "show" of dance and create a memorable experience for the dancer and viewer. The thrill for me is when I witness the dancers discover something new in their abilities.

A very strong positive recommendation for Jamy Meek. My daughter is a figure skater who has worked with Jamy to help bring added grace and interest to her skating components. It was incredible how quickly Jamy was able to adapt his understanding of dance and dance movements to my daughter's movements on the ice. Jamy gave her a lot to think about, and the changes he helped her make were visible immediately. Jamy was willing to travel to various rinks, which really helps with scheduling. My daughter will continue to work with Jamy, and will work with him as much as possible.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Typically my fee is by the hour for private lesson/coaching-$100. Classes or groups are-$40 for each additional student. The cost of the studio is extra but in some cases, I help by splitting the cost with the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BFA in dance performance which included pedagogy in ballet, tap, and jazz techniques. As often as I can I like to watch others teach and create in the studio because it is always eye-opening to see the decisions they make and how different there thought process is to my own. There is always a surprise that challenges my own process.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was always a performer at heart and when I realized that dance combined everything I love; physicality, expression, music, acting I went for it.
