Introduction: From a young age Mahrou has found a natural connection to the camera. Having never been taught how to use her first film camera, this was a blessing in disguise. Learning by making mistakes, and then correcting, led to the formation of her unique photographic eye. She remembers the dark room being a place of discovery and magic. Even the unintentional aspects of film creation were beautiful. While also studying graphic design at the same time, she was led into the digital world. Digital photography/editing started to carve a new path for her. Combining the skills she learned in school, paired with real world experience, Mahrou found a true passion for black and white photography. Black and white allows an expression of more emotion. When we only see black and shades of gray this keeps us from finding distraction with color. After graduating with a B.F.A in graphic design in 2012, life instead gave more opportunities with photography. This includes in-studio commercial photography, corporate events, concerts, sports, family portraits, and more.

Mahrou was great! She photographed a religious ceremony for our child and the photos turned out awesome. She was very communicative, friendly and helpful in shepherding groups of people for various shots we wanted. We were really pleased with her work and would hire her again for another event.

Mahrou was absolutely wonderful to work with for our "surprise" proposal photoshoot! She was incredibly responsive and easy to work with and helped immensely with logistics and planning. Was really impressed when she went out to the location the day prior to ensure she would have the perfect spot ready. We had some inclement weather on the engagement day and she was so flexible in pushing back a few hours (on the fly!) to ensure we had perfect weather! She spent far more time with us than I expected to ensure we had every shot that we wanted. And the photos were fantastic! Truly so many amazing compliments from friends and family already asking for a referral. She has an exceptional photographer's eye and knows what will make a great photo. I would absolutely recommend Mahrou to anyone looking for a fantastic photographer for any occasion!

I reached out to Mahrou at the very last minute to be our photographer from my husband’s 50th birthday party. She was super responsive and we were very fortunate that she was available!
