- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically offer a first half hour initial lesson to get to know a client, hear them sing or play if they feel comfy, go over my teaching style and see if we are a good fit. Then if they want to move forward, they pick a weekly or biweekly time to meet with me and start working towards their goals.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Bachelors and Masters with honors from Pacific Lutheran University and Northwestern University, respectively. I have over 30 logged practicum music education hours in the public school system, and have taught all ages in group and one on one settings for over ten years. I am also trained in some child music methods including Kodaly, and also enjoy working with elderly/adult students immensely. I hold ample hours of guided teaching in vocal pedagogy courses, as well as basic knowledge of vocal cord function and pathology.
