- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is $60 for a 60 minute lesson, $50 for 45 minutes, and $40 for 30 minutes. I recommend an hour lesson for all older students. 45 minutes works well for students ages 8-11, and for ages 3-7 I generally recommend a 30 minute lesson.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For a new student I usually first ask them what their goals are and what they would like to work on. For younger students I give them choices of what they would like to work on and what songs they'd like to learn. I help my students find and choose repertoire that is a good match for their abilities and I aid them in refining their playing and technique.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied violin performance at Oberlin Conservatory of Music during my undergrad and got my Masters of Music in violin performance at DePaul university. I also studied music education at DePaul. I have Suzuki teacher training and O'Connor fiddle method teacher training. I'm also a trained yoga teacher. I prioritize my student's comfort while playing and help them achieve the most healthy posture possible while playing.
