Hi there, we are Kirstin and Maddy, two life long friends originally from Colorado. (Kirstin’s first job was babysitting Maddy at the age of 13 when Maddy was just 5 months old.) We both have a background in theater, AND we also adore interior design and the art of installing wallpaper. Kirstin started Wonder Wall(paper) in 2021 and trained Maddy to join in 2024, collectiveky we have hung well over 200 walls in the last year alone, and over a thousand walls since we opened our business. We are comfortable installing every kind of wallpaper from commercial to traditional to peel & stick. We love meeting new people (and their pets especially!) and helping to radically transform a space with just one installation. We also love helping our clients pick accessories and furniture too! Madelyn did an absolutely amazing job with my wallpaper project. Even though it was a smaller space, it was far from simple—working around a wall unit with a busy patterned wallpaper required real skill and precision. She handled it flawlessly. Every line is perfectly aligned, and the finished look is seamless and polished. I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome and highly recommend her!!

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For most projects I charge by sq foot x 4. Full wraps sq footage x 5. If a project is particularly challenging and takes longer than I’ve estimated, I will charge additional costs by the hour $75/ hour.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I try to communicate as much as possible. I always read the installment instructions provided by each product before installing to make sure I am doing everything as recommended, every product and every wall is different.
If something unexpected happens in the process I try to communicate first and give options for how to proceed. This could be due to a problem with a misprint in the product, a lack of enough product (double check your measurements before ordering) or sometimes an issue with the wall that needs addressing. If we need to pause before the installation can continue and we need to schedule another time, a return to site fee of $50-75 may apply.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked professionally in theater for over 20 years. Primarily working as an actor, I also built sets and designed props and costumes. I have apprenticed with fine wallpaper makers in Chicago and learned more about working with and installing more high end products.
