I wanted to take a moment to share a strong recommendation for Big Shoulders Restoration based on my recent experience working with them on a loss at our home in North Center.The loss involved emergency water damage mitigation and mold remediation from a really bad leak in our condo's roof, and their team handled everything with a high level of professionalism and attention to detail. They are so nice and respectful and sociable. So nice, in fact, that we insisted they complete the reconstruction as well given our great experience with them. The scope of work included water mitigation, drywall and insulation removal, mold remediation, drying, and eventually reconstruction (hanging drywall, sanding, painting, etc), all completed efficiently and with clear communication throughout the process. They handled our home with care, setting up cardboard walkways to prevent our floors from getting dirty or damaged, and plastic barriers to contain the debris and maintain air quality in the rest of our home.What stood out most was the level of support and guidance they provided. They took the time to explain each step of the process, set realistic expectations, and ensured everything was documented properly. This made a stressful situation much easier to navigate and gave me confidence that the job was being handled correctly and to industry standards. These are the type of people that make you feel comfortable both with the quality of work and the quality of humans that enter your home.The crew was punctual, respectful of the property, and consistently maintained a clean and organized work area. From start to finish, the experience was smooth and professional. Our home is now patched up and looks better than before the leaking.If youre looking for a restoration company in Chicago that is knowledgeable, responsive, and thorough, I would not hesitate to recommend Big Shoulders Restoration. It would be irresponsible to call anyone else!

Big Shoulders Restoration is incredible! I called them in December for emergency mitigation when water was pouring through the ceiling of my condo after a large snow/melt. They came in almost immediately on a Saturday and were amazing - communicative, thorough, efficient, and empathetic about the acuity and severity of the situation. They were patient and helpful in navigating insurance and HOA issues. Big Shoulders did mold remediation in our kitchen and drying/dehumidifying in the bedroom and kitchen. They documented everything in detail along the way using 3D mapping and moisture meters which proved to be incredibly helpful in receiving reimbursement from insurance/HOA.Big Shoulders was immediately ready to do the reconstruction, which was held up by the HOA (roof fixes, back and forth, etc). But we insisted that Big Shoulders Restoration finish the job because we were so impressed with the mitigation work. The restoration is now complete, and we couldnt be happier. Our ceiling and walls look better than when I bought the condo!Shout out to Robby, Anthony, Quintin, Russ, and Cindy (and anyone else I havent mentioned or met behind the scenes). This group works together insanely well and gets shit done! In the case of any future issues, I have Big Shoulders Restoration on speed dial and would recommend them to any and every one!

Every member of their team did a phenomenal job. Clear communication, quick response to the flooding issues we had, and honest responses to both the work that was needed, and the cost of said work. While we wish that we had never needed their assistance to begin with, we were glad to have had their help every step of the way. They will take care of you and your home!
