- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was a stay at home mom to four little children. I had one child who was in a very expensive sport at the time. As the sport became more costly, I began thinking I should pick up a job to help with the costs. My girlfriend coincidently had a friend who was looking for a cleaning assistant for her cleaning business to get through the holiday months. I took it on as a favor to a friend whom had recommended me because she knew how I loved to clean. After two months of working with this woman, I was appalled on how she cleaned and treated her clients home. I felt bad knowing what her clients were paying and what they actually were receiving. I knew I wanted to keep cleaning homes as I loved it and loved getting out of the house, and I also knew I could do it better and give clients quality work. My first client was within a week of my decision. He was the kindest senior citizen who had just lost his wife. He called me his 'Little Domestic Darlin" and the name just stuck.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Basically I do residential cleaning however I am getting into light (non industrial) commercial cleaning.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Getting a quote over the internet or telephone is not always the best idea. You could be over or under priced without a service actually giving a free in home estimate and viewing the work involved.
