This past fall, we had the pleasure of working with Joe. He designed us a wonderful deck and finished our dark cold basement in to a beautiful warm living area! The first time we met with him, we knew he was the right person for our job. He explained in detail exactly what and how he would perform the job. No one else who gave us a bid did that and his bid was well below any one else's we received. Once we hired him he performed everything he specified and more, even though we kept changing and adding jobs. Nothing upset him! I would also like to compliment his staff. Mark and Joey were both very polite and helpful and they were both excellent workers. We will see Joe again in April to stain our new deck and paint our fence. We would defiantly hire Joe again!!

How do you choose a commercial general contractor?

A commercial contractor provides similar services as a residential general contractor but specializes in working with large-scale projects for businesses, schools, nonprofits, governments and development firms. When researching commercial general contractors, review their portfolio of work and confirm they have ample experience working in the area you need. For example, if you are building a small strip mall, ask if the contractors have experience successfully incorporating all the needed elements such as a parking lot, meeting ADA requirements, accessing the proper permits, and completing work on time.

Once you’ve identified several qualified candidates, request bids for your project and then compare the scope of work with your needs and budget. Your commercial general contractor should oversee design, permitting, construction, materials purchase, and adherence to building code and zoning regulations, as well as sticking to an agreed-upon budget and schedule.
