Introduction: We are a family-owned business, based in Decatur, Illinois, that provides the following services:
1) Courier services: We will deliver anything from a single envelope, up to 2000 pounds of loose, or palletized, freight.
2) Moving labor: Do you need to load, or unload a moving truck, POD, etc.? We can provide 2-8 man teams to help with your residential or commercial move!
3) Expedited freight delivery: We are experts in handling expedited freight moves (sometimes called hotshots). Our company has specialized in the movement of urgent freight for 15 years!
The founder of the company, Douglas Melancon, has provided delivery services for over 15 years to such companies as Emery Expedite, Menlo Expedite and UPS.

Melancon Moving and Freight Services is the best! They loaded a U-Haul for me when I moved out of a two bedroom apartment in Decatur, IL. They were on time and worked non-stop from the minute they arrived until they left. They had everything loaded in less than 2 hours and took extreme care of every item. They said we treat every thing as if it was our own and that is just what they did. I had a few bulky items (large couch, dresser, etc) that they had to maneuver out small doorways and narrow hallways; however they made it look easy!! While loading the U-Haul they even spent time positioning items and lining the floor of the truck with flat boxes so nothing would shift or be damaged during the drive. Melancon Moving Service is extremely professional and absolutely fantastic. I would definitely use them again and would recommend them for any job (no matter how big or small).

I hired Doug, off of Craigslist, to move my wife and I from our apartment into our house. It couldn't have been a better move! Doug was upfront about the price, showed up on time, he and his sons worked really hard and moved us over without any problems.
