Definitely recommend Mike to fix your computer! He saved me from getting a new computer! So, I accidentally got water spilled on the keyboard and it stopped working! I don't know jack about computers, and was a little worried about running into the kind of scenario like when you take your car to the shop and they take advantage of your lack of knowledge and upcharge you. BUT, I ran the communication I was having with Striker Technologies through a whole bunch of very tech savvy friends, and they are all convinced he absolutely knows what he's talking about. I wish my repair had been cheaper, but I'm the dumbass that spilled a drink on my laptop, not him. The price couldn't be avoided. Throughout the repair Striker Technologies was extremely communicative and gave me constant, thorough, updates. I've also been assured that if any subsequent problems pop up related to that repair within the next year I can bring it back at no price.

I used the Thumtack.Com service to locate a local computer service providers who would be available and interested in helping me get my older laptop repaired. I had already made the rounds of the local major retailers and was unhappy with their matter of fact responses. They all seemed to have the proclivity to want to Start by replacing the major components like the motherboard or DVD rom rather than assessing what was wrong and replacing only the individual components that were defective. That was not the case with Striker Technologies. He listened to the litany of problems including audio, video and a DVD rom not working and suggested to do a no obligation evaluation before quoting a price and a path forward. I brought him the unit on a Sunday evening and by the next day he quoted me a competitive price to fix the known problem area. His experience suggested that this unit was well worth fixing and that if additional parts were needed they would be both low cost and available. He called me later that same night and had repair all the issues of audio, video, USB bus and the DVD by repairing weakened solder issues that he had found on the main board chipsets. Plus that he had reinstalled Windows 7 and done all the updates because the recent install was defective because of the chipset problem. Clearly he is a customer oriented provider who based on his skill and experience saved me both money and saved a repairable computer from being tossed. He did everything for his original price quote. I was delighted with his service such that I brought him my oldest laptop, an HP that was well more than 10 years old. It had a certain sentimental value to me. His response was to say he was familiar with the particular unit and he would likely be able to repair it for an agreed and reasonable fixed price. Once again I have given him the go-ahead. I highly recommend this service provider. He is skilled, fast and reliable. I was lucky to find him and would recommend him to anyone with a problem with their computer.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My on-site fees are hourly with travel applied pending distance, my fees in shops are generally fixed rates
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically give new customers 10% off my normal pricing, When they give me a machine for one problem, I check the whole machine for other issues. I want to make sure their machine runs as long as humanly possible. Buying a new machine isn't always the answer. By coming here we will maximize the machine's fullest potential. We aren't the cheapest, but we are the best!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been in the field for 20years, starting with computer repairs and I branched out from there into mac repairs. I have extensive experience with hardware and software repairs and can handle pretty much anything throw at me
