Introduction: We are a flooring artists! NWFA trained with over 100 years combined experience on our team. Family owned and operated since 2002. We specialize in hardwood flooring installation and refinishing which most folks know as sand and stain. Our company is dedicated to using sustainable flooring, top quality stains, hard wax oils, and state of the art waterborne LOBA finishing systems... Creating a floor of beauty is not a simple task. It takes a detailed eye and skilled hands to deliver a top quality site finished floor. The best part of the job is when the customer sends a message, "the floors have surpassed their expectations". I hired A Step Ahead to install about 500sq ft of wood flooring. Chris and his team were great. He took the time to make sure things were done the right way and saved me quite a bit of money in the process.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    we have standardard installtion and finishing prices. They both are serviced per sq.ft... There are several factors to complete an honest proposal. It is best if an in home consultation is performed. Then there are no surprises for both parties.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    Intial meeting for jobsite evaluation and estimate. estimate created and emailed. folllow up phone call. when awarded the project schedule stain color consultation collect deposit deliver materials for acclimation prior to start perform work customer enjoys new floors!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    Ive attended 2 NWFA courses. I have 20 years of practical application. Ive been a full time estimator and ran the hardwood sivision at a large North shore flooring company.
