About Handyman Computer Services LLC

hired 1 time on Thumbtack

We're the right handyman for your computer.

We provide a full range of computer (and IT) services to homeowners, home offices and small businesses. This includes file and photo recovery, computer repairs, computer upgrades, new computers, printers, scanners and networking services.
We also help protect your valuable information by providing and/or recommending backup software and services.

The valuable things on your computer include family photos and email messages, business documents and financial records.
For small businesses, we offer disaster recovery planning. We work with you to identify business critical information and then implement a solution to safeguard that information. We want to help protect your investment.

We take the time to listen first, then talk with you about the problem you are having or what you want to do. We don't rush. We want you to be happy to see us after we've made the first sale. Most services, except computer repairs and/or upgrades may be done on-site. Some services require us to take the equipment with us to effect repairs.

We also have the ability to connect to your computer remotely to help you with a problem or just explain how to do some things on your computer.

Question and answer

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. If your computer needs to be repaired, decide how much you can afford to spend. You know your budget and how much disposable cash you have. If you tend to feel pressured when you're talking with a service provider, write this number down and keep it near you.

If your computer has not worked in a while, remember what it was like when it did run. Was it slow? Did it take a long time to do things?

Include this information when you talk to the Service Professional. Depending on the age of the computer, they may be able to provide options to improve it's performance.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I enjoy the process of working with people to understand what it is they want to do and find a solution to get them there.

I love it when I am able to recover photos from a PC that the owner thought were long gone.

Technology has always fascinated me. I love learning about it and then sharing that information with people in a way that helps them.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. I worked with a customer to help transfer the contact and calender information from her husband's Palm to their PC. Two previous attempts by other members of the family resulted in the data being lost.
Before initiating the transfer, she said "If this doesn't work" we're both leaving town tonight."
After the transfer completed, she had the biggest smile on her face.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I've always been fascinated by technology. I've loved wiring things up since I was in grade school. My first plan was to be an electrician but my high school science teacher introduced me to computers.

Thanks to my parents, I've always loved helping people. I get a tremendous amount of satisfaction when I can sit down with someone and help them solve a problem. Or just make their day go a little better.

Q. What is your greatest strength?

A. I listen to the customer. I find out what is wrong with their computer or ask what it is they want to be able to do with it. Then I find one or two options for them to consider.

My goal is to earn a call from you because of the work I've done for you already. A customer who's happy to see me after we've done business means that I'm doing my job well.
