I have been playing guitar for over 45 years. I have played in jazz, blues and rock bands. I teach a very practical approach to playing guitar where my students can start playing their favorite songs right away. I can teach electric or acoustic guitar. I teach beginning to intermediate levels, chords, scales, fretboard knowledge, guitar maintenance and music theory.

Phil is an excellent guitar teacher who taught me how to be more creative and helped me learn how to flow in my playing as opposed to thinking just about theory. Phil was also very patient and understanding when it came to what I wanted to learn and would provide me with specific feedback after each lesson on what to target next. He also created a calm and fun environment which allowed me to be more confident as a player. Overall, a great guy and great teacher!
