Total Electric & Design
For the review skimmer: Hire Vincent - he's unbelievable. You won't be sorry. Not only does he do exactly what he says he will do for a very reasonable price, he goes above and beyond that. There's a reason all his reviews are 5 stars. He's punctual, dependable, cleans up after he works, and he's now our go-to electrician .
For the in-depth review reader who even after reading all the other 5 star reviews continues to read this one (and Vincent): We had 3 bids to install a 220V hot tub outlet, add a can light in our basement stairwell, and add some kind of light fixture above our basement bar. All of the bids were comparable in total, but what stood out about Vincent was his immediate warmth and competence. I also like to think I have a knack for reading people and he just seemed like a genuinely nice person. Turns out I was right. He did an awesome job on all three of the projects we had originally asked for and along the way, we not only decided to add a ceiling fan, dimmers, motion sensors, and some special outlets - but we also had the pleasure of just chatting with Vincent and getting to know him better. If there were a new commercial for The Most Interesting Man in the World - Vincent would probably get the part. You should almost hire him just to hear some of his fascinating life stories. But let me get back to the work because we are the type of annoying people who demand perfection. Vincent delivered that. I am semi-obsessed with dimmer switches and really wanted one on the basement bar light. At first, Vincent told me the box was too small, the dimmer switch wouldn't fit, and I was a little disappointed because I'm used to getting my way. After some thought, the next day he went to home depot and bought a special box to accommodate an even nicer dimmer than the original. The lights above the bar came out perfect and now dim to perfection! As for the can light in the stairwell and the ceiling fan, my husband was very hesitant to have any work done because we had been told the walls would need to be cut open, patched, and painted by previous electricians . Vincent cut minimal holes, patched, and painted all of his work in the stairwell so I decided while my husband was away to surprise him with the ceiling fan he had previously been too nervous to have done. I told Vincent if he could have it done by the time my husband got home Sunday evening and that any holes were patched and painted to perfection, the job was his. He was just finishing up as my husband was coming home and even used a blow dryer on the paint so it would look like the fan had magically appeared at the center of the room without a trace of him being there to make the surprise special. Unfortunately, I had Menards somewhat mismatch the paint, so he found the piece he'd cut out of the ceiling, went to home depot, matched it again, waited for the paint to dry to make sure it was a match and came back to my house to repaint it. Talk about service! It gets better. After he left and I said I should have had him help me move the couch back, he turned around, came back, and helped me put it back! Over the course of the few days he spent at our house I can't even think of all the small acts of kindness and small courtesies he performed for us. So, if you're still having any doubts about hiring him, just know that he does things the way you would do them for yourself - the right way. He's like having an old friend over to chat about life but also does all your electric haha. Thanks Vincent for all your hard work, dedication, and putting up with our perfectionism!
