Was quoted $500. When setting appointment before they arrived I asked again about cost and was told based on info I provided it was $500 unless they saw anything else when they came to the job.
Showed up an hour and ten minutes early. Normally wouldn’t complain but when working from home and you have already worked out your schedule for the day it could put you in a tight space.
Prior to arrival I texted to ask if there was any additional supplies I needed to provide for the job. I got a text back that he would look once he got to my house.
Upon arrival, I needed adhesive and grout which I knew and wanted to provide but they said wait until they arrive. In the past, whoever I hired would go get the supplies and add it to my total. The gentleman who showed up at my house had me go with him to Lowes to pick up supplies to be able to pay. Wouldn’t have been so bad if he left them at my house! He took all of them with him when he left the unfinished job!
I have attached photos of the unfinished job where he told me I needed to pay 50% and that he would be back on Monday.
He then told me the new total was $959! The original estimate was $500 and there was NEVER any conversation of the job being more then originally quoted. The first I heard of the job price almost doubling was at the end of a full days work!

He cut the tile outside of my front door, white residue is still there, the tile adhesive is all over my counter (pictures included) and parts of the wall where there is no tile!
The tile is uneven, some areas there is not even enough space between the tiles for grout!
Not one outlet has consistent tile cuts. Need to change all of the wall cover plates to hide the imperfections!
When questioned about the quote he said it was because of the amount of outlets my kitchen has. I felt uncomfortable so I paid the 50% to end the situation.
On Sunday, When I asked him not to return because of the poor work and the quote doubling after a wholes day work and not discussing with me before the job started he then said it was because of the size of the job. It was less then 50sqft!
Why did the story change? Too many outlets or a bigger space than expected?!? Either way a true professional would have discussed it up front and not waited until the end of the day!
Very disappointed! Wouldn’t hire ever again!
