Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I like the fact that I get to not only play my violin everyday but that I can teach someone else to have the love for classical music. I tailor my teaching style to the student. No two students are alike, therefore you have to teach everyone differently. I enjoy figuring out what each student needs in order to succeed.

Violin Lessons (for children or teenagers)

Betsey is wonderful at working with both kids and adults. She's extremely professional, flexible, and takes a methodical approach to solving playing problems. She's really a joy to have as a teacher.

Violin Lessons (for children or teenagers)

Betsy is the BEST violin teacher we've encountered! She works very well with my son and he's already improving. Betsy is funny and engaging to make violin enjoyable. I highly recommend Betsy!!!

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I graduated from New England Conservatory of Music with a violin performance degree in 1999, then went on to get my Master of Music degree from Northern Illinois University in 2003. I have had master classes with the Concert Master of the Chicago Symphony, Montreal Symphony, Boston Symphony, to name just a few. I am currently associate concertmaster of the South Bend Symphony Orchestra, I am a substitute violinist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and have played with the Lyric Opera Orchestra as well. I play all over Chicago and Indiana.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I have been playing the violin since I was 2 and a half years old so it was always part of my life. If I wasn't playing the violin or teaching I would feel like I was missing my right arm. Playing the violin and teaching is my passion. I love when a child enjoys it as much as I do. I think everyone should learn a musical instrument.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Vintage violins mainly rents, repairs and sells high quality stringed instruments to school districts in the area as well as private schools. We also have private violin, viola, and cello lessons for $30.00 for 30min. We are family owned so we work with our customers to make this process easier.
