FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every installation is a little different depending on the number of cameras, cable routes, attic access, and mounting locations. Most residential installations fall between $700 and $1,200 for a typical 4-camera setup when the customer already has equipment. If you need cameras and recording equipment, I can recommend reliable systems as well. I always try to provide a clear estimate before starting the work so there are no surprises.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I ask a few questions about the property and how many cameras you are planning. If possible, photos of the areas where cameras will be installed help me estimate the work. In many cases I can provide a price range before visiting. During installation I run clean cables through attic or exterior paths, properly mount the cameras, configure the recording system, and set up mobile viewing so you can access the cameras from your phone.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We have hands-on experience installing wired surveillance systems and low-voltage network wiring for homes and small businesses. Our work includes running Cat6 cabling, installing cameras and network video recorders, and configuring remote viewing and networking equipment. We regularly work with many of the common security and networking brands customers already have, including Hikvision, Uniview, Lorex, Reolink, Eufy, Ring, and UniFi. Because many customers purchase their own equipment, I’m comfortable installing and configuring a wide range of systems and making sure everything is set up correctly and working reliably.
