FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always loved and worked with animals my whole life and have always wanted a job working with animals! So, when my youngest child left for college last year, I decided to start my own pet care/dog walking business and I absolutely love it! I am so grateful for all my clients and I know they are very grateful to have me, too!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
There are six things I think are especially important in hiring a dog sitter: 1) Are they the sole owner/operator of their business so that you know it will always be the owner who is coming to care for your pets rather than different employees coming. 2) Is the business licensed and insured. 3) Get references and talk to some of their current clients. 4) Find out if they are flexible with changes to your schedule or do they charge you for changes. 5) If they board pets, do they board more than one family at a time? If so, I would not go with them for safety reasons. 6) How long are their visits with their pets and what do they do at their visits?
