About
I am a retired Math teacher with experience teaching remedial Math, standard and honors Algebra, and adult Math education. I believe that all students can develop the confidence and skills to be successful. Many students need the 1-1 support that often is not available in a class room setting. Students who are missing fundamental skills usually struggle when attempting to learn new material. By working with students 1-1, I can identify any missing skills and help the student to fill in the "gaps" to build a foundation for future success.
I believe that learning Math can be fun!
I enjoy the good feeling that students experience when they successfully master topics that have previously been difficult to understand.

Doug is an exceptional tutor with patience, knowledge and ability. He has helped me gain confidence in my own ability to conquer mathematics. He's a great coach for anyone struggling with math concepts. His ability to break things down paired with positive reinforcement has truly helped me beyond my expectations. Mr. Eblen missed 3 out of 4 tutor sessions. My son is still struggling with his math and missing sessions doesn't help my son advance with his math studies.
Indianapolis Public Schools's reply
I thought I first session went fine. Mother of student canceled second session because she said that it was her son's birthday. I missed the third session as I was out of state visiting grandchildren. I missed the fourth session due to attending a funeral for the brother of my wife. I offered to make up the missed sessions at no charge; but mother of student did not reply.
