These people are just the best.
1. I posted on Thumbtack at about 9:30 am. Within ten minutes they reached out. I explained what we thought we needed - a repair on a toilet. They set a reasonable arrival time.
2. They texted that a job had run longer than planned and they would be later than first scheduled. I later realized that that happened because they are obsessive in a good way about doing a job well and being sure that it is.
3. They arrived earlier than their revised scheduled time. They looked over our proposed repair and said that because of the damage to the water closet that a repair would be an expensive temporary fix. We agreed because they had sound reasons and explained everything very clearly. Our shutoff valve was also not working to shut off the water and we asked for a quote to replace it as well. The quote was very reasonable and we accepted it and the replacement toilet. They did some prep work like draining the tank and bowl and shutting off the main water.
4. In less than an hour they went to get the replacement toilet and shutoff valve and started the main work. BTW, they got an ADA compliant commode and we're very grateful! Neither of us had even thought about it - these folks are considerate professionals. We cannot say enough good about them.
5. Bottom line - these people are excellent. We have them in our phones for future work AND highly recommend them for technical skill, excellent communication and being able to bring those together in one great team.
