FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
💰 Pricing Reflects Results, Not Just Time You’re not paying for individual sessions alone—you’re paying for: A structured training plan Clear systems you can repeat Education that lasts beyond the program Accountability and follow-through My pricing reflects outcomes, not quick fixes or one-off lessons. 📦 Programs Over Single Sessions (When Appropriate) For most cases, I recommend program-based training rather than isolated sessions because: Behavior change requires repetition and structure Consistency produces faster, more reliable results Programs are more cost-effective long term Single sessions are available in specific situations, but they are not ideal for deeper behavior issues. 🚫 No Gimmicky Discounts I don’t run “flash sales” or artificial discounts. Why: Training quality shouldn’t fluctuate based on promotions Consistency matters—for both results and accountability Serious clients value structure over bargains That said, longer or more intensive programs naturally offer better value compared to one-off sessions. ⏱️ Time, Effort, and Commitment Matter Pricing assumes: Clients will attend sessions consistently Homework will be completed Household rules will be followed Missed sessions, lack of follow-through, or inconsistent participation slow progress—but pricing does not change based on effort level. 🧾 Fees & Policies Are Transparent Customers should expect: Clear pricing upfront Defined program length and scope Policies regarding cancellations or rescheduling No surprise add-ons mid-program Everything is outlined before training begins. 📚 You’re Also Paying for Education A large part of the value is learning how to handle your dog yourself: Understanding behavior Knowing when and how to intervene Preventing future issues That education reduces the need for constant retraining later—which saves money over time. Bottom line Customers should know: This is an investment, not a shortcut Pricing reflects structure, experience, and long-term results Consistency and commitment matter more than discounts The goal is fewer problems for years, not temporary improvement If someone is looking for the cheapest option, I’m probably not the right fit. If they’re looking for clarity, structure, and real change, pricing aligns with that goal.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first step is a in person consultation so I can understand the full picture of what you're struggling with when it comes to your dog. This allows me to understand the dynamic between you, your dog, and the environment. If your dog has behavioral problems such as reactivity, separation anxiety, resource guarding, the consultation allows me to piece together a plan fit for what you're going through.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My education and training are a mix of formal instruction, mentorship, hands-on experience, and ongoing self-education, all centered around real-world dog behavior—not just theory. Here’s how that breaks down: 🧠 Practical, Experience-Driven Training Years of hands-on work with hundreds of dogs across: Puppies Basic and advanced obedience Leash reactivity Fear, over-arousal, and behavioral modification Experience working with large, powerful, and high-drive breeds, not just easy companion dogs Real-life environments: homes, neighborhoods, parks, busy public spaces—not just training rooms This matters because dogs don’t live in training facilities—they live in the real world. 📚 Education in Canine Behavior & Learning My approach is grounded in: Operant conditioning (all four quadrants) Classical conditioning Marker training and timing Arousal management and threshold work Relationship between nervous system state and behavior I focus heavily on clarity, timing, and fairness, rather than rigid ideology. 🧑🏫 Mentorship & Professional Development Ongoing learning through mentorship, seminars, and industry resources Continuous refinement of systems based on what works long-term for owners—not just what looks good in a session Regular review and evolution of training protocols as new dogs, cases, and patterns appear I don’t believe dog training is something you “finish learning.” 🏠 Lifestyle & Systems-Based Training Much of my education comes from building repeatable systems for owners: Household structure and routines Clear rules around freedom, thresholds, and transitions Teaching owners how dogs learn so results last after training ends This is where many trainers stop—and where most behavior problems actually live. 🧩 Client Education & Coaching In addition to training dogs, I’ve spent years developing: Owner education materials Homework systems Accountability structures Clear expectations and compliance standards Because training only works if the human understands their role. 🪖 Discipline & Accountability Background My background emphasizes: Responsibility Consistency Clear communication Calm leadership under pressure Those principles heavily influence how I work with both dogs and people. Bottom line My qualifications aren’t built on a single certificate or title—they’re built on: Proven results Real-world problem solving Deep understanding of behavior Teaching owners how to lead effectively I don’t follow trends. I focus on what produces calm, reliable dogs and confident owners—and I continue learning to make sure that stays true.
