Introduction: Bonjour! I am fully bilingual in French and English, having spent 15 years in France during my High School years, before coming back to the U.S. for Bachelors and Masters degrees. I have taught in class settings and one-on-ones, taught adults, children, and both at-risk and on-the-spectrum kids. Know for my patience and sense of humor, I can lead you to a mastery of conversation, or to simply develop a better accent. **all classes are online through Skype, Facetime or Zoom ***

I've been trying to learn French, but I feel ridiculous practicing alone or with an app. Chris is such a kind and helpful person to learn from. My favorite things Chris does is: 1. Improves my accent without making me feel dumb, or like I'm in some bad french movie. 2. Helps me get the nuances right. He tells me when something I've learned isn't what anyone in France would really say and teaches me the 'normal' way a French person would say it! I love feeling like I'm learning the inside scoop of REAL French. I highly recommend him if you want someone who will support you, be honest, and catch your mistakes all without making you feel dumb or silly. I've come to learn that he translates French and English back and forth for publications as well, so he's really good with reading/writing grammar as well!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

standard fee is $40/hour. Small groups (2-3) are welcome, with the hourly fee split between participants. Short classes (half hour) are $25.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

The process will be determined by the student and the need. For a generic class we will use the free app Duolingo to structure the lessons, and the classes will be spent reviewing and strengthening what is learned on the app. Classes can also be based on material brought by the student ( homework, etc..) or by interest ( french songs, books, movies, etc..).

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been teaching most of my life. Either French as a tutor or substitute teacher, Theater or Tai Chi.
