It is with great pleasure that we share our experience in working with Mindy Sly. Mindy has an exceptional talent for interior design and is passionate and extremely knowledgeable about her work. Our relationship began this winter when my husband and I wanted a fresh, updated look on the inside of our home. Our family had spent over 10 years living with different shades of tan walls and complementing carpeting. We wanted to incorporate shades of gray, white, turquoise and yellow but were neither knowledgeable about color and design nor had the time to take on such a big task alone. Knowing that if we changed the walls and carpeting, we would also want to update our furniture and décor to complement the overall look we were trying to achieve. At our consultation we shared with her our vision, style, likes and dislikes as well as our budget and timeline. Mindy listened to our needs and wants and made suggestions for paint colors, carpeting, furniture and décor. What we enjoyed so much about working with Mindy was that she encouraged us to take an active role in the decorating process. She didn’t push her agenda on us and, in fact, welcomed our input and opinions on various aspects of our redesign. With her natural talent and eye for detail, Mindy has transformed our home beautifully and has made it come to life with vibrant colors, patterns and textures! From the custom made furniture and the use of drapery to the eye catching paint and décor, we are in love! We have found her work to be inclusive, comprehensive and creative. She is accomplished with color and savvy with its usage throughout our home. Mindy strives to satisfy and deliver high quality results without the large price tag. We love showing off our redesign to family and friends and enjoy coming home to what seems like a vacation getaway! We look forward to using Mindy for any and all additional needs we may have in the future. It is with great pleasure that we highly recommend Mindy of Urban Sly for all interior design needs.

We're building a new home and having the 2000+ sf basement finished in a unique configuration with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, including a master suite. We needed to let the builders know where to put the plumbing (and in what type of configuration), but needless to say we had no idea where to begin or even what kind of professional to hire. Mindy responded to our Thumbtack request very quickly, answered all our questions, and gave us about 20 minutes on the phone for free in order to better understand our project. She gave a very reasonable quote for her services and lived up to every promise she made. She made changes multiple times until we were totally satisfied and also met a couple VERY tight deadlines from our builder at the last minute. In the end we were thrilled with the design she provided and are hopeful we can bring the vision to life as the house gets completed!

My daughter's bedroom was a room that has needed attention for awhile now. For her 10th birthday, we bought her an interior designer, Mindy, from Urban Sly. We gave her our budget and she sent color choices over to us to choose from and asked questions to figure out what look we were going for. Mindy came and visited the room to get dimensions and the layout of the room. She came over one day and did her magic and got the room completed. We did the reveal as a surprise to my daughter and we were all so happy with how it turned out. She loves to be in her bedroom now and hangs out a lot in there. Thanks Mindy!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The one-time consultation fee is $300 to offer guidance and professional suggestions to help you love your space. Should you choose to move forward with an additional collaboration upon a signed agreement the rates range from hourly to project fee.
