I’m in my 30’s and haven’t taken a math class in over 13 years. To be quiet honest, I didn’t even know where to start when looking at a math problem, which led me to Laila. I needed to be caught up on how to solve intermediate algebra and geometry problems. She broke down a lot of different types of equations and simplified them in a way that I was able to understand and remember. She’s managed to catch me up from high school math to college math in a months time. I truly don’t think I would be passing in this math class without her help. So far, I’ve only worked with her for three weeks and in those three weeks I went from all F’s to passing, so I can only imagine how much better I’ll get by the end of this semester. Shes given me the confidence to look at a new problem and solve it. I can without a doubt say her tutoring skills are worth every penny and more. I never thought I could get as far as I have, so my advice to anyone considering a tutor should absolutely hire her for the job because not only is she worth it but having a passing grade is too.Sep 25, 2020VerifiedLaila Alieh: The Math Astronaut's reply
Thank you so much Tawni for your lovely review. I’m so glad to support you in achieving your dream career. I love how ambitious you are along with being very coachable. Let’s keep going. I’m excited that we will continue to work on keeping your 4.0!!! Let’s do this!
Laila was hands down one of the best tutors I’ve ever used!!! My son was struggling with some Algebra concepts and after a few weeks working together, he was able to master those challenging concepts. Laila was always full of energy and enthusiasm about Algebra and encouraged my son to learn and grow in the subject. My son loved working with her! Besides the lessons, I liked that she gave him additional work to continue to practice until the next session. She was always very communicative and responsive about his progress. I highly recommend Laila to anyone struggling with Math!Jul 5, 2020VerifiedLaila Alieh: The Math Astronaut's reply
Oh wow thank you so much Jacqueline! You are to kind. I love your sweet words. It is such a pleasure tutoring your son.
Miss. Laila is the best tutor I've ever had! She's very understanding and accommodating. She listens to what you're struggling with and tailors the lessons toward that. She won't judge you for not knowing something or having trouble with a simple problem, she'll only help you and help build your confidence. She's amazing!!Mar 4, 2020VerifiedLaila Alieh: The Math Astronaut's reply

My daughter's confidence in math has greatly improved because of Laila. Before the coaching sessions started, Laila and I discussed the areas my daughter struggled with to create a plan of action. My daughter looks forward to every session and has been doing great in math. Book Laila. It will be one of the best decisions you ever made. I can't say enough good things about her.Dec 22, 2019VerifiedLaila Alieh: The Math Astronaut's reply

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My regular price is very fair given my background and understanding of where the student is in their level. I use to struggle with math and had to get a tutor to be where I am today and get my dream job at NASA. I do require to have a consultation with my student in person and online before we can discuss next steps. My initial meeting with the student is longer and will not over charge so the student gets to know who I am and we get a chance to learn each other's personality. Once we realize we can work together we can move forward.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?1. I do an initial consultation and go over the students work and areas of difficulty to ensure I know the subject 2. Then we review the students lesson plans 3. Go over a couple math examples slowly, breakdown the problems into sections to help the student dissect and gain a better understanding of the problem. 4. Finally I have the student workout the problem alone and I have them talk it through with me.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I'm an engineer. I got my Bachelors in Civil Engineering from Purdue University and a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Portland State. I worked for NASA Kennedy Space Center for 4 years. I have passed me Fundamentals of Engineering Exam and am now an entrepreneur.
