Phil is very approachable and my son is happy with his guitar instruction. He had been asking to take lessons outside of his public school guitar class and I think this will be a really good fit. Phil was interested to know what my son was interested in and I think its important to capture that and build on it. We are using the studio location and its convenient for us.

Mr Lashley has been teaching my son for the past 18 months in both classic and electric guitar. He is decidedly a very caring, kind and astute teacher with great passion for music and a very friendly manner. He started by first considering what my son wanted to learn and tailored the lessons accordingly. He is very knowledgeable on many types of music making the experience interesting, varied and always fun. Most importantly, he has shown great patience and excellent teaching skills, explaining new concepts in simple terms for the student to feel encouraged. I give Mr Lashley with confidence my highest recommendation.

My 10-YO and I are both taking lessons from Phil. Over the course of the past 2 years we've found him to be consistent, caring, and constructive. We never feel rushed during class and always leave with specific and constructive feedback for improvement. I'm particularly impressed with his pacing - sometimes my child gets frustrated and wants to quit. He changes up tactics/homework so guitar lessons continue to be challenging, yet FUN. He's in it for the long haul - knowing he is creating and strengthening a love of music in kids....and adults!

We've only had 2 lessons, but so far we think he's very good. My 13-year-old granddaughter seems pleased. This Thumbtack site, though, is really aggravating in its insistence that we provide a rating; their emails are never-ending. Even before we'd ever met Phil.

I've been taking guitar lessons with Phil for about 2 years, and I have been extremely impressed with his musical skills and his instructional skills. Phil is not the guy who "teaches a little on the side." He is a caring and dedicated musical education professional who will use a structured approach to take you where you want to go with your instrument.
