- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The focus of what I do for a customer is tied to the sale of a home/property. When a customer wants PHOTOGRAPHY ONLY, I need to determine the type of home, square footage, vacant or occupied, agent-handled or FSBO. Type of photography needed, high-end or regular. If vacant, does owner desire leased or available furniture to be staged in the home prior to photographing property. Is the property in need of any interior work that should be completed prior to photographing or will we be working around that issue or shooting more than one session. I also incorporate light staging when photographing occupied properties, so if a home is extremely cluttered, I can give the customer an idea of how long I will be shooting and offer suggestions the homeowner can implement before I arrive to reduce shoot time. When a session is photography only, I do not provide a consultation session for the staging suggestions, as it is done as the shoot progresses. If a customer wants STAGING ONLY, it is necessary to schedule an initial one-on-one consultation to determine the type of home and square footage. I also need to know whether the home is vacant or occupied, what furniture & furnishings available for use or will they need to be leased. A budget and expenses necessary to complete the project will need to be discussed; what is the time frame required for the project, and how long staging will need to be in place if furniture has to be leased. This consultation is offered at a flat fee of $75 plus travel fee, if applicable. If the customer would like a written consultation, the additional charge is $25. The consultation session also provides an opportunity for both of us to establish the parameters of the staging experience. I will offer suggestions and the customer can decline a particular suggestion or expand a service. This helps me come up with an accurate, firm quote. The option to decline staging is still available once the consultation is completed. The customer can decide to implement suggestions on their own or have me complete the actual staging. Also, it allows me to answer any questions a homeowner or agent may have concerning the proposal or services offered.
