Super fast. Answered my request within minutes and were here bright and early. We had to adjust the initial quote because we had more than we thought we did but they were very reasonable. Don't waste your time, just book with them!

With moving companies, you just never know. Will they take a break when they should be working? Will the treat my items with care? Do I trust these people to be in my new or old home? I had all of these very common concerns and I can honestly say that Long distance van lines was incredibly professional, very fast, and the guys all showed up with a smile. I had a last minute move and they accommodated my move date just six days in advance. I was able to book them over the email. The estimate request on their website is ACTUALLY an estimate request, not just a way to add me to their sales lead list. I promptly received an email a few hours after I filled out their estimate form on their web page. I was surprised to see that it included a complete price break down, hourly rates, number of men needed, any extra charges, and a disclaimer that the movers will actually pack anything left out for you and all you have to do is buy the boxes. Moving within my neighborhood from a studio with an elevator to a 2 bedroom on a fourth floor, they estimated that the move would take only 3.5 hours. So my estimate came in much cheaper than other options like mayflower I also liked the transparency and brevity of the email so I went with my gut an booked them. It helped that mayflower called me and asked me to list every single item i was moving in order to get an estimate. An HOUR on the phone to get an estimate that was three times as much as LDVL. No thanks. The day before the move, their dispatch guy John texted me in a group chat with the numbers of all the movers tomorrow. "Im including them in this group text so that you have each other's contact info and we can all communicate via this thread. See you soon." Call me crazy, but I loved this and I felt good about the move already. It just felt like they knew what I would want: no confusing arrival times, no mystery movers. Everything was very upfront. When the guys arrive around noon, they walked into our apartment and introduced themselves. One of them pulled out the paperwork and immediately the other three guys left the room. I was a bit nervous so I asked where they were going and what I got back thrilled me "Oh, they're going to go ahead and start moving the stuff you put in the hallway." They didn't even wait for me to sign the paperwork before they got to work. Very impressed. Over the next two hours they wrapped and packed all of our furniture with pads and plastic that i DID NOT GET CHARGED FOR. No nickel and diming. They did not take a single break. Not once. The knew what they were doing and divided the labor to get it done quickly and smartly. Working smart can be better than working hard, but these guys did both. About an hour and half more I received this text message: "Hi Martha. Just checking in. How's it going?" Nadine from dispatch was making sure I was satisfied while they were still working. I LOVED this. We went to the second location, with three flights of stairs, and the guys didn't blink an eye. I'm not sure if movers guilt is a real thing, but I found myself feeling bad about asking them to go up those stairs after using an elevator first. Nadine told me that stairs are no problem and that three flights is really no issue. Clearly it wasn't. Again, working smart, they posted one guy on each flight of stairs and used the assembly line approach to the move.MUCH faster and a better use of energy for them. Moving in actually took less time than packing things up did! They even assembled the bed frame and place furniture where I wanted it. In the end, they were only half an hour over the original estimate, which was our fault because I forgot to include or outdoor space that needed to be moved on the estimate form. ADVICE: We were so grateful that for the move in on the stairs we bought a case of water and told the guys to help themselves whenever they needed any. DO THIS! It's good karma. Also, tip is NOT included in the estimate and I learned through research that 10-20 bucks per hour per man is acceptable.. They deserved it. DO THIS. I spoke briefly with one of the guys when we were doing the closing paperwork and he told me that some people just don't tip at all. During the second part of the move, Nadine texted again to make sure everything was going well at the second location at to ensure that the travel from one apartment to the other was quick. Which it was. Final icing on the cake, the guys told me to come downstairs with them to look in the truck to ensure I had everything before they left. HIRE THEM! PROFESSIONAL & PERFECT! Only Con is that their box prices are steep, but you can't blame them for that. Last minute materials = expensive.

Both men that were sent to help us move were pleasant and extremely efficient. They had everything out quickly and didn't waste any time, which is great when you're paying by the hour. They made sure we had everything loaded before we left, and when we got to the new apartment, they got the truck unloaded so fast. I would definitely recommend this company and use them again for my move.
