I was very pleased with the professionalism, responsiveness and promptness in Ed Bilo calling me. We have an appointment for Friday, Sept. 14, 2018. I appreciate very much for his followup due to an error message sent him by Thumbtack implying that I had cancelled our appointment--which was not correct. I was so concerned that I called Mr. Bilo at 9pm tonight to make sure we still had an appointment on Friday. This is over and beyond professionalism that he answer the phone and was not upset.

Walter of Hi Solutions responded to my thumbtack query with a competitive bid. On calling he asked succinct questions and reinforced the estimate and committed to a scheduled arrival to fix a pinhole leak in piping at my hot water heater. He arrived on time, was efficient and very courteous and careful to explain what he did and provided me some useful information about the piping in our home. I had previously gotten other estimates which were as much as twice the amount for this simple repair or from companies that would not commit to an estimate without visiting and charging a fee just to look at it. (as high as $85.00). Ct Walter's service gets 5 stars without any reservation or downside..

Renaissance did an amazing job on my den. I originally hired them to mount a tv and ended up having him paint 2 rooms as well. They were on time, very responsive and knowledgeable. I had another contractor install a cable outlet and electrical outlet above my fireplace to make the mounting of my tv easy. However that contractor didn't do an efficient job and when Antonio mounted the tv both outlets were showing. It is very important to me that only the tv be visible after mounting. Antonio assured me that he would not only hide the cable box and cords but would fix the other contractors work as well. I was able to relax and everything was taken care of to my specifications. They went above and beyond to ensure that my needs were met and I was satisfied with the job. I would recommend them as well as use them again for other home improvement projects.

I was really pleased with the overall experience with Baiza on my screened porch repair. From the owner to all of the workers on the job, everyone was extremely courteous and treated my home respectfully. The job site was keep clean every day; and when complete, you couldn't even tell that some minor construction took place. There weren't any issues for working around all the inclement weather or my changing work schedule. I wanted to be on-site as much as possible to give input; and they were happy to receive it. I would definitely have Baiza do the work on my next project.

Matt tiled my bathroom walls and floor. He was very fair in his pricing for his excellent quality of work. He showed up every day for work exactly on time and worked hard to make sure I was happy with his work every step of the way. Of all my years in working with general contractors, Matt's professionalism was my best experience. In terms of his skills with tile, he fixed existing problems with my bathroom in terms of level, tile placement, and severe lippage. When he was done with his work, my bathroom was beautiful! The tile placement gave the bathroom a better sense of space, the floor and walls were level, and there was no lippage. He suggested some aesthetic choices which I went with and the end result was beautiful. Finally, Matt was honest with me in terms of work specialty that he was not comfortable with; that is, I had some aesthetic choices in mind, but he was straightforward with me and said he was unable to do that. I appreciate that honesty, whereas some contractors says they can complete certain special work when, in fact, it's a stretch and does not come out with the quality we hope for. All in all, I would recommend Matt for tile work. He is a strong 5-stars in terms of quality of work, professionalism, and, on a personal level, he is just a very nice man and is easy to talk to.

Needed mold remediation and drywall repair after finding out my 3rd floor deck has been leaking water behind the siding. Was contacted immediately after I put a request in and was provided a thorough quote for work to be performed. Work was completed in a reasonable amount of time. Will definitely use Unlimited Resources again.

Mauricio repaired my front porch and one slab of sidewalk. Compared to other concrete repair jobs I have seen, I would say the quality is excellent. He showed up on time and his price was very reasonable. Would definitely recommend!

The water and flooding in our lower level was not getting better so we searched the internet and spoke to many contractors on how to fix the problem. We found this little website Thumbtack and contacted a few companies to provide us an estimate. Aquaguard was one of them and the initial meeting was very productive. We ended up deciding to contract with them since they provided us the most logical information and solution. The crew came in and did a great job. The one negative was a door that they broken while doing the work. The production manager Jane contacted us once the project was completed. We discussed our satisfaction with the work, but not completed happy due to the non functioning door. Jane was quick to dispatch a handyman that not only fixed the door but also fixed the lock that has been a long standing problem for us. This was the wow factor we never received from a contractor and hence why we are writing this review. Jane, Will and their staff should know this family is graciously thanking them for the job well done. Thank you also should go out to Thumbtack - a free service that connected this contractor to us.

What a true joy it has been to find a company like Lux Foundation Repairs that has such quality standards for their work. Alex Stieb is very professional in every way and treated the repairs to my home as if it were his own. He was very considerate of my needs and concerns. He took the time to explain the problems , yet he didn't try to pressure me into a lot of unnecessary repairs and work. They were able to save me a tremendous amount of money on the overall job. They started on time and worked efficiently in getting the job done in a timely manner. I couldn't ask for a better job on the foundation work they did. Having had worked in the real estate industry I know how important it it to have quality repairs for the foundation of your home. I am a very satisfied customer and would recommend this company to anyone who needs work done on their home. Alex went above and beyond in providing quality workmanship on this job.

A very professional job was done replacing our walkway. I had three other contractors give me estimates on repairs only using existing bricks and also using extra matching bricks we had here. Mission Home Services replaced the bricks with Flagstone for about the same price the other contractors wanted to repair the old brick walkway. Highly recommend Mission Home Services.

I had Unique Homes (Simeon) complete 4 different projects for me, each progressively bigger. All of them were successful -- although not without little issues that came up now and then, but that were always taken care of. The prices were very good and the jobs were done well. Job #1 - I had a front porch that needed concrete work. This was a relatively small job, but it was done well. Job #2 - This was a remodel of small bathroom. Again, the job was done well and was a good price. And Simeon indulged us owners half-way through the project when we did not like something about the floor tiles we had chosen. Totally our issue, we did not really like how it looked when it started getting installed. But he undid some of his work and we were able to fix it. Job #3 - This was a full bathroom remodel, so a more significant job. Again, this project was done well, but the costs savings really started to come through on this project. We were very happy with the final look of the bathroom. Job #4 - This was by far the biggest job. It was a complete remodel of our master bathroom. I had received various quotes from other contractors in the $30-40K range for the project (including materials). Simeon's prices were less than a third of that, however that did not include any of the materials. In the end, I think the materials is the source of a lot of the savings since I think the others hide mark-ups (or store kick-backs) in the materials. For this project we went to some high end stores and looked at their display designs and chose/copied what we liked. We chosen something that was based on a white marble tile as a base ...and Lowes/HD carried it at a fraction of the cost of Tile City. I think we saved $5k on the marble along. We bought some of the more unique accent stuff in Tile City at full price, but for everything else we were able to replicate the Tile City look with HD or Lowe's materials of equal quality. We bought a high end shower panel, but bought it through Costco. The same fixture at a high-end bathroom store was thousands more than what we paid. At some higher end stores Simeon would give us the Unique Homes discount that he had negotiated. Some places (like the glass doors for the shower) were still expensive...but I ended up with the same bathroom that would have been $40k for about $20K. So yes, I recommend Unique Homes.

We were looking for new flooring to be installed in our entry and kitchen. Andre came out with an estimate and listened to our ideas about taking the kitchen reno just a little bit further. We wanted to get rid of the large Florescent light in the kitchen. Andre suggested he could install in-ceiling lights. We were on a tight schedule to get this done and Andre made sure he scheduled us for the week that we requested. He and his team did a great job getting our lights installed, our floors installed, and making sure that everything was back in place before they finished. Andre and Amilcarr are very personable and friendly, making sure we understood what they were doing on each step of the installation. They did a fabulous job and we're planning our next step in renovation to be suing Traylor Design & Construction as our go-to contractors.

I had feared the worst when we discovered water damage to our building just as winter was approaching. Happily Michael Carosi really knows his business. He identified the source of the problem, described what was needed and why and emailed me a written proposal on the spot from his smartphone. It was the best price and most comprehensive quote that I had received. His crew was there the following morning. In less a week they had excavated to the building's foundation, repaired the concrete footing, lined the area with waterproof membrane, refilled the excavated trench and made improvements to the brickwork of the adjacent walkway. All the right preparation was done: security ironwork on a ground level window removed to enable the digging and then reinstalled undamaged; the window protected with plywood during the job; the trench reinforced and the area marked off with cones and tape to prevent mishap. At the end of every day the site was put in order and at the end of the job everything was cleaned to better than original condition. I was kept informed of the schedule by text. I also received the photos Mike and his crew took at each stage of the work. The crew was prompt, polite and well-managed. What a wonderful experience to have a job done by true professionals. This house is in one of D.C.'s historic districts. It was built in the 1880's. It was a relief to know this was a job well done. Next Spring Mike and his team will be back to level and repave the front steps.
